More about Stowell's Evergreen

Zea mays

Stowell's Evergreen is an heirloom sweet corn variety dating back to the mid-1800s that produces 8-inch-long ears packed with 16 to 18 rows of sweet, white kernels.  Bred by Nathan Stowell of Burlington, New Jersey and aptly named for its ability to hold its freshness in the field.  Plants grow to 8 to 10 feet tall, often producing two full-sized ears per stalk.  Kernels don't discolor when canned, unlike many modern varieties and the residual starch helps to give cut kernels a delicious, creamy consistency.  For peak freshness, harvest ears beginning three weeks after pollination.  Approximately 95 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.

I didn't have good results

I planted around 75 seeds. 9 came up in random spots. Seeds were planted in a old goat feed lot that I tilled up.

Hi Chris, thanks for your review. I'm sorry the Stowell's Evergreen seeds gave dissappointing results. We will be in touch about a refund or replacement.
