Martino's Roma is an heirloom roma tomato that originates from Italy.  Donated to Seed Savers Exchange in 1990s by Maureen Conway who received the original seed from an 87-year-old Italian gardener living in the Finger Lakes area of New York.  That gardener had reported received the seed from a friend who brought it from Italy many years prior.  Stout plants produce abundant yields of 2 to 3-ounce roma-type paste tomatoes with meaty interiors and very few seeds.  The bright red tomatoes boast an exceptional flavor, especially for a paste tomato, that is sweet and robust.  An excellent variety for canning and sauce making.  Ripe fruit have a slight tendency to drop from the vine when ripe but are ra...
