More about Minnie Shatterly Cornfield

Phaseolus vulgaris

Minnie Shatterly Cornfield Bean is a rare Appalachian variety shared with us by long-time seed saver John Coykendall.  Pole-type plants produce excellent yields of slightly curved, flattened pods containing tan seeds with dark red speckles.  Traditionally planted alongside corn and allowed to grow up the stalks.  A great variety for canning and we suspect it would also work well as a shelling bean.  80 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
