More about Jacob's Cattle

Phaseolus vulgaris

Jacob's Cattle is an heirloom dry bean variety that produces oblong, white seeds dotted with red spots which give them a unique, cattle-like appearance.  Bush-type plants are healthy and vigorous, producing an abundance of long pods, each containing 6 to 8 beans.  Pods are easy and fun to shell, a great past-time for a cold winter's night.  Beans have excellent cooking qualities and great flavor.  Well-suited for both baked beans and chili.  Note that the coloration of these beans may vary depending on growing conditions.  Bush habit.  90 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
