More about Aunt Ruby's German Green

Solanum lycopersicum

Aunt Ruby's German Green is an heirloom tomato originating from Ruby Arnold of Greenville, Tennessee.  Regular-leaved plants produce excellent yields of large, green tomatoes weighing up to a pound each.  Tomatoes ripen from light green to a yellow-green color at maturity, sometimes with a subtle pink blushing on the blossom end, and have a unique sweet and slightly spicy flavor that is unlike any other tomato we've tried.  Great for slicing.  Also well-suited for making tomato chutney and green tomato pie.  Harvests begin approximately 85 days from transplant.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
