More about Good Mother Stallard

Phaseolus vulgaris

Named after Carrie Belle Stallard of Wise County, Virginia, Good Mother Stallard is an old heirloom variety dating back to at least the 1930's.  Pole-type plants produce excellent yields of 3 to 4-inch-long, curved pods each containing 4 to 5 round beans. Burgundy beans with white swirls and speckles have the appearance of stars on a night sky.  Surely one of the most beautiful dry beans out there. Good Mother Stallard is easy to grow and a joy to harvest.  An excellent variety for children's gardens.  Matures 85-95 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.

Great harvest even with the bunnies eating them at the beginning of the season. They were large and full of flavor!
