More about Old Fashioned

Brassica rapa

A long-held favorite throughout the South, Old Fashioned Mustard is a beloved garden green that is commonly used for wilting and braising.  Because of its exception cold-tolerance, Old Fashioned Mustard can be planted throughout spring and fall, supplying the gardener with continuous harvests of fresh greens throughout much of the year.  Its tender, ragged-edged leaves have a classic mustard greens flavor that tastes great in all of the traditional preparations.  We've also been known to use the baby greens to beef up salads in early spring, before lettuce is plentiful.  Harvests begin approximately 45 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 500 seeds.
