Calabrese Green Sprouting Broccoli is an Italian heirloom variety brought to the United States by immigrants in the 1880's and commercialized by the seed trade in the first part of the twentieth century.  Plants produce a 5 to 6-inch central head followed by numerous side shoots.  If harvested regularly, plants will produce for several weeks, longer in cold climates.  Approximately 50-70 days from transplant.  Each packet contains a minimum of 100 seeds.
