Plants produce beautiful wide ears with neatly packed kernels in various shades of green. Dented, capped kernels have a unique, almost pearlescent appearance making them great for fall decorations.  Oaxacan Green corn grows 6 to 7 feet tall and matures approximately 95 days from planting.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.

Beautiful, tall plants

FULL TRANSPARENCY: This is my first time growing corn.

My cobs are maturing, and I've been hand-pollinating them as silks appear. I started seeds indoors in April (zone 4b), and transplanted them in early May into 10 gallon felt tubs (due to my limited gardening space being a renter in the Twin Cities area).

These dudettes are interplanted with either potatoes, or beans and squash, and doing MARVELOUSLY. In late June they were already close to 8' tall.

I am SO excited to watch them mature, dry, and then grind for some grits and cornmeal this autumn / winter.
