More about Orange Flesh Honeydew

Cucumis melo L. Inodorus Group

Honeydew Orange Flesh is an heirloom variety that produces unique orange honeydew melons with creamy white rinds and vibrant orange interiors.  Dating back to at least the 1920s, this variety has been a lesser-known novelty among the more common netted melons but has recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity.  Healthy vines produce good yields of smooth-skinned melons with light orange interiors that have an exceptionally sweet flavor and an incredibly smooth texture.  Favored by many organic growers because the smooth rinds can be more easily cleaned without the use of chemicals.  Matures approximately 100 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
