More about Henry Wilde

Helianthus annuus

Henry Wilde is a very old heirloom variety that produces beautiful golden sunflowers with elegant, dark brown centers.  Highly branched plants grow 7 to 10 feet tall, producing a dozen or more blooms over several weeks.  The beautiful sunflowers average 4 to 6 inches wide and produce a good supply of pollen, which in turn supports bees and other pollinators.  The mature heads are also an excellent food source for songbirds and other wildlife.  Henry Wilde is one of our favorite sunflowers for cutting as the flowers have a long vase life, particularly if they are cut just as they are beginning to open.  Blooms late summer.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
