Giant Nobel is an heirloom variety introduced in 1926 by Zwaan and Van der Molen of The Netherlands.  Long standing, 24-inch plants produce abundantly over an extended harvest window, yielding large, thick leaves that are slightly savoyed with a smooth texture and delicious flavor.  Giant Nobel is excellent for both fresh eating and wilting and is a great variety for both canning and freezing.  An All-America Selections winner in 1933.  Known under many names including Monstrous of Enkhuizen, Matador, Gaudry Long Standing, Giant Fillabasket, Diamond and many more.  Harvests begin 45 days after planting.  Each packet contains a minimum of 250 seeds.

truly nice seed

I plant greens early inside. If they are done before transplant time, we just eat them and start over outside. We'll be eating this spinach soon! ...and maybe a whole new batch before we can plant outside. The seeds germinated in about 3-4 days, grew like "bean stalks," and were ready for cutting very quickly!
