Cucurbita pepo

This compact variety that is every bit as productive as the green varieties, but has the added benefit of being conspicuous.  Golden Zucchini produces glossy, bright yellow zucchini are less likely to escape harvest leading to fewer football-sized zucchini accumulating on the counter, waiting to be shredded.  Yellow zucchini also add a burst of color to sauteed vegetables.  We like to sauté them along with green zucchini, mushrooms, sweet red peppers and onions, which we then stir into our homemade pasta sauce and finally pour over cooked fettuccine.  Colorful and delicious!  Harvests begin approximately 57 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
