More about Jack-Be-Little

Cucurbita pepo

Jack Be Little is an open-pollinated variety of miniature pumpkin that produces large quantities of little orange pumpkins averaging three to four ounces each.  A popular variety for fall decorations, Jack Be Little's small pumpkins measure just 3 to 4 inches across making them the perfect size for party favors and table adornments.  Their small size and easy to grow nature also make them a popular novelty for farmers markets and produce stands.

A generally carefree and easy-to-grow variety, Jack Be Little's vines grow vigorously, producing around six to eight miniature pumpkins each, making them a great variety for beginning gardeners and children's gardens. We have also grown them on trellises and have found them to be quite happy being grown this way.

Although aesthetically similar to the miniature gourd pumpkins one often sees in the market, Jack-Be-Little pumpkins are actually true pumpkins and thus are edible, with a flavor and texture comparable to an acorn squash.  They are well suited for roasting, baking, and use in soups or other pumpkin dishes.  Also known as "Jack-B-Little" and "Little Sweetie." Matures approximately 95 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
